CHEEZMEH DROPS THE PRETENSE: WITH ERIN HERNANDEZ AND MASSO ALL ALONG DUPING THE GULLIBLE
---------------------------------------------------------------
<div>By <strong>Juan Montoya</strong></div><div>With the start of early voting, the ringleaders at Cheezemh are are discarding the pretense that they have been honest brokers and abandoned the charade that their forums or for-a-slight-fee "debates" were anything but a stage to prop up their candidates and set up the others who attended unaware that there was a pr-set agenda to these meets.</div><div>Erasmo Castro, who goes by the name (aka) of head Cheez, lamented the fact that the group <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBcswGoag019rw5cYgNl32TicFmg01_0wFM4_eLZXkDHX4cUVp9HSOi84oQJJRtf4loB7aG4sEx9ShSedngIxRQU7YwRzFoH8wd0-EvZiIXgaQ0LpDgf8Lm4vUu8DpyCIuwAmBwxkj-7k/s1600/erin+pretense.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742423327156916690" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBcswGoag019rw5cYgNl32TicFmg01_0wFM4_eLZXkDHX4cUVp9HSOi84oQJJRtf4loB7aG4sEx9ShSedngIxRQU7YwRzFoH8wd0-EvZiIXgaQ0LpDgf8Lm4vUu8DpyCIuwAmBwxkj-7k/s400/erin+pretense.jpg" /></a>(or whatever is left of his followers) could not continue to focus on the issues and instead had to choose and endorse particular candidates for public office.</div><div>He predicted that his courageous stand would be ridiculed by bloggers and commenters on the blogs.</div><div>"I am sure the bloggers and Zekeee are going to have a field day with this post, but if you know me at all you know that the Cheez is not moved by what idiots post on their blogs or what worst idiots post anonymously there. I hereby ask that we unite and support not only Erin Hernandez Garcia for Justice of the Peace, but also to support Carlos Masso as the Democratic candidate for District Attorney of Cameron County."</div><div>Well, for once he was right.</div><div>Those of us who have been raised here and have been involved in local politics have seen interest groups for pay like Cheezmeh come and go. They stay until the pickings are no longer ripe and disappear like a flash in the pan.</div><div>Erasmo says that he will gladly take claim for the group's "triumphs" in electing the likes of city commissioner Jessica Tetrau-Kalifa and John Villarreal. Are you sure you want to take credit for electing a commissioner who tarnished the people's office by getting involved in at least five case of domestic violence, only to escape prosecution when Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos refused to prosecute? Well, we know how that office has worked, don't we?</div><div>And while we're at it, another feather that Erasmo is claiming for his cap is that of electing Villarreal. Well, Johnny boy<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9RSZ06Lqin0L7OSpUiQR3PwY4ZGP_sWK2OYDzdEFg-nQoO7Ebj8sEK7f_qlFSBl823dCMUJeiR960N2ouw0PIXoJMHLjn1ME8SCOtyA6t9gTSWaeK7iRqEkUzdJxYKLE4PXVqOT_FGx4/s1600/masso.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742433942978225826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9RSZ06Lqin0L7OSpUiQR3PwY4ZGP_sWK2OYDzdEFg-nQoO7Ebj8sEK7f_qlFSBl823dCMUJeiR960N2ouw0PIXoJMHLjn1ME8SCOtyA6t9gTSWaeK7iRqEkUzdJxYKLE4PXVqOT_FGx4/s320/masso.jpg" /></a> showed his true colors as a patriot and defender of American freedoms when he insisted that the city administration remove the Citizens Against Voter Abuse (CAVA) booth from the EarthFest celebrations.</div><div>Apparently, while in the shadows of the federal courthouse where the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights are defended, Villarreal disdainfully deprived the group of its First Amendment rights with one arrogant swoop.</div><div>Even her American flag was removed at his insistence. How dare American citizens display the flag while fighting against the abuse of the right to have fair elections? What will they want next, freedom of religion?</div><div>And these are the candidates that Cheezmeh and the Head Cheez want to take credit for foisting upon our citizenry?</div><div>What are we to think of their support for Erin Hernandez Garcia and Carlos Masso?</div><div>Come off it. There is not patriotism, community grass roots sentiment or any groundswell for these endorsements. It's money and self-interest, pure and simple.</div><div>When Masso gave them money, they turned on Luis Saenz with a vengeance, running ads unearthed from 17 years ago against him. And Cheezmeh has always been in the pocket (and taking from it) of the Hernandez clan.</div><div>So when the group holds "forums" and "debates" to lure the gullible, there has always been a hidden agenda working behind the scenes to conceal the real intentions of the leaders of this group from the unsuspecting public.</div><div>So call whoever is not lured by your siren song "idiots."And you can say that (as you did about Mary Helen CAVA), that she's full of "sh_t," or whatever other sobriquets they use in Austin, or East Texas.</div><div>But for someone like Castro, who has been convicted of felony theft once, and then not once, but twice, convicted of theft by check and has had poor Mexican-Americans and Mexican immigrants charge in federal court that he and some of his relatives (sister Linda, for example) took their money under false pretenses and are operating a continuing criminal enterprise (RICO) slur the name of a local candidate like Saenz who was never been charged or convicted of anything, is absurd.</div><div>In crititicizing Saenz's candidacy, Erasmo â" Mr. Right â" said Saenz was the "wrong" candidate.</div><div>Then, in their campaign against Begum â" an opponent of their favorite Erin Hernandez â"she is ridiculed for having an accent and her having received her education in Mexico. Do you people know where you are? Are you aware that the majority of us living here have friends or relatives in Mexico who do not speak perfect English and who have received their education in Mexico before they came here?</div><div><span style="font-size: 100%; ">If you want to emphasize the fact that Erin is an attorney, well, she should know better than to be a treasurer for a candidate for political office (Villarreal) when holding a judicial position (magistrate in Primera). It's not only lends her office to a political candidate, but also compromises the integrity of the office.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 100%; ">And remember that it was Erin, after all, that defended the Herandez's harvesting of politiquera votes when Ruben Peña dragged them into court. Oh, we get it now! Could it be that Villarreal, a Hernandez supporter, took offense that Mary Helen might be talking about Erin and his pals Ernie and Norma?<br /></span><span style="font-size: 100%; ">And it was Erin who has maintained the legal farce that her dad's vending machine contract with the county is legit because, you see, he doesn't own the company. Erin became the owner on the county contract when he became commissioner, and now that she is a candidate for JP, her mother Norma suddenly became the legal owner.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 100%; ">It's legal, we guess. But does that make it right? Is that the legal experience we deserve?</span></div><div>Sorry Erasmo, but it is you and your followers who are all "wrong."</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-6845551230060750162?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

ERIN MAKES FRIENDS WITH BEGUM'S CONTENTIOUS LONG LOST WOULD-BE IN-LAW
---------------------------------------------------------------
By <strong>Juan Montoya</strong><br />The fray for the Democratic nomination for Justice of the Peace 2-2 has taken a nasty turn toward the sleazy.<br />Prominent among tose running is local artist and businesswoman Yolanda Begu. One of her opponents in none other than the daughter of Pct. 2 commissioner Ernie Hernandez, who has gained notoriety for drawing large numbers of mail-in votes, often harvested from elderly voters who turn over their ballots to his wife Norma and other Hernandez operatives.<br />Now, Jim Barton, of <a href="http://www.meanmisterbrownsvilleblogspot/">http://www.meanmisterbrownsvilleblogspot/</a> is telling us that the Hernandezs have another ally in the former mate (not wife) of the adopted son of Mike Begum, both men now deceased.<br />That woman is Josephina Canales Auten, whose Facebook alias is Scarlett O'Ha<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Sa-4fGzAWWjQaZL43P_6_yZO8AR3ob8qdc_BVZCiwMcVFcIwSfzBLbE23Sp8UJpIupDlEeOPbYI54HuzqvQLEMz2VxZLJX_KqHhvxQA_tAVD-tavwL6XYPrEhZzh2vqpCRSQYHGiZBA/s1600/Erin+and+Scarlett.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 327px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742119193399038210" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Sa-4fGzAWWjQaZL43P_6_yZO8AR3ob8qdc_BVZCiwMcVFcIwSfzBLbE23Sp8UJpIupDlEeOPbYI54HuzqvQLEMz2VxZLJX_KqHhvxQA_tAVD-tavwL6XYPrEhZzh2vqpCRSQYHGiZBA/s400/Erin+and+Scarlett.jpg" /></a>ra.<br />Although reportedly residing in Houston, she has been seen attending events promoting Erin Herandez's candidacy against Begum.<br />Begum supporters say that after Yolanda declared her candidacy for JP, Canales resurfaced and allegedly sought to extort money from the Begums, threatening to say nasty things about them otherwise. On several posting on her page, she urged the candidate to meet with her, offering to meet and discuss the welfare of her grandchildren.<br />However, neither Begum nor her family took the bait and instead are saying that they are in the process of seeking legal action against the woman.<br />Alex Begum, Yolanda's son and an attorney, stated in a email to <em>Rrun-Rrun</em> stated that: "She claims to have gone to Harvard on her Facebook, although she never attended this college and does not have a college degree. This lady has a long and sordid history.<br />Recently, she attempted to extort my mother by sending her a Facebook message. She said that if my mother did not pay her, she would bad mouth her on the Internet. Of course, my mother refused to pay her one single penny!<br />We are in the process of reporting her actions to the authorities and looking at additional legal options."<br />There is a lawsuit filed in a Harris County court where a judge issued a restraining order against her communicating with a married man who claims he had affair with her and she was not threatening to email compromising pictures and videos to his family and business associates if he did not pay her money.<br />A copy of that case filed late last year is titled Hart Eugene Schleicher vs. Josephina Canales Auten, Cause No. 2011-74258, 165th Judicial District Court, Harris County, Texas.<br />Do the Hernandez know the history of their latest convert, or do they even care?<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-7570769080593010645?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

CARMEN ROAD SCREW-UP REVEALS EXTENT OF HERNANDEZ PATRONAGE MACHINE TENDRILS

Well, it wasn't exactly paving, but more of a rural road upgrade using Texas Department of Transportation "millings," the name given to the asphalt when the department scarifies existing highways.<br />At one time, the TDOT used to give the millings away, but now it sells them to the county for $10 a ton, still a good deal.<br />Unable to give a good explanation of why the road project had failed miserably, Ara blamed the quality of the TDOT millings. In other words, the material was no good. Perhaps someone should alert the TDOT managers that they are selling shoddy material. Funny how it worked fine before.<br />Ara brought in supervisor Santana Vallejo to oversee the work. To seasoned Public Works employees, that alone caused red flags to go up. Something was bound to go wrong. And, now that the county has to go back and correct the mess, their suspicions were proved right.<br />You remember Vallejo, he used to to be streets supervisor with the City of Brownsville until management sniffed out something wrong with their neighborhood sidewalk program. Apparently, some of the cement being delivered to the program somehow found its way out of the city and ended up being used by individuals who then sold it to homeowners for driveways and sidewalks.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7P8IyKdhlZlEGaJkhXGaEz4OSU-15UmY3djzrRRHAnv-28dl-Q7A2SrLXtVnKpTOhrcnaIOt9SPj4zAyBBI-EMTfG9mxNuAExdKRGgfhN6AS9a5qCDxYKDtJ825zmM8mOVU38jU_kbg/s1600/erin+h_+garcia.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742112572988335650" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7P8IyKdhlZlEGaJkhXGaEz4OSU-15UmY3djzrRRHAnv-28dl-Q7A2SrLXtVnKpTOhrcnaIOt9SPj4zAyBBI-EMTfG9mxNuAExdKRGgfhN6AS9a5qCDxYKDtJ825zmM8mOVU38jU_kbg/s400/erin+h_+garcia.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />And just last year, a homeowner's complaint in rural Olmito filed with the Cameron County's Sheriff Department charged that Vallejo and his compadre Rosendo Rodriguez had sold them driveway pipes they were replacing as they performed ditchwork on the roads and keeping the money for themselves.<br />Sheriff Dept. officials said that the complaint against the two were dismissed on a "technicality," but insiders say that aggressive defense attorneys for the men scared them into withdrawing their charges telling them they were just as guilty as their clients because they knew the pipes were not legitimately acquired.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieZ8GlNSOopdDLKtFEbZOy5hftCUfME-ZvwsY5xyYf89xAK1NMKyn_BsQdWwLz88LHUTkPEL4tApOKDtjlgwjAGFTb3zUowHF3wkWZFI7NjVKRxiNwMpHnhjEUa6cXP351TpELc0E0Gy4/s1600/ratas.gif"></a>With the charges withdrawn, the men returned to their positions free and cleared.<br />And it just so happens that Rosendo's brother, Ricardo, is also working for the county in the colonia grants section and mostly in Cameron Park. Ara put that crew under the supervision of inexperienced supervisor and one of his (Ara's) favorites, foreman Ruben Gonzalez, who showed immediately upon arrival at the project that he didn't know his keister from a bar ditch.<br />He had workers climb into deep trenches without the OSHA-mandated protection for workers in sloping ditches. OSHA mandates that entities doing the work may use a trench box or shield that is either designed or approved by a registered professional engineer or is based on tabulated data prepared or approved by a registered professional engineer. Well, our Mr. Gonzalez knew nothing of this and had the workers climb into the trenches without the required protection. One, Javier Mendoza (Nuco), had the misfortune of suffering the predicable: the trench collapsed and trapped him under tons of dirt. He suffered serious injuries including damage to his internal organs and has now been declared disabled and can no longer work. As an afterthought, Ara suspended his appointee as foreman Gonzalez and now the county has been forced to pay for all the injured worker's medical and disability payments.<br />Working under the colonia improvement fund, the workers poured in thousands of dollars of caliche on Nogal Road where Aroldo Cadriel's shooting range is located. Just after Hernadez became former Pct. 2 commissioner's assistant following the disgrace of Carlos Cisneros, he oversaw the work on that road. Workers used thousands of dollars of road material and labor on the road that leads to the range, but the rest of the road south of the range is void of houses.<br />Aroldo, as we well know, is Ernie's wife Norman's cousin. He has been charged with murdering a young woman with whom he had a romantic relationship and dumping her body is a desolate rural area.<br />Her brother Robert Cadriel, a convicted felon, became embroiled in a controversy when a county employee was suspected of taking his civil service exam so he could work for the county as a security guard at Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Acting Human Resources director Robert Lopez resigned immediately after the story became public, as did Cadriel. That case is still being investigated by the county's District Attorney Armanado Villalobos, who himself has been indicted for racketeering and corruption in a case related to the Abel Limas scandal.<br />After Vallejo left the city, he ended up in the Cameron County Public Works department under Ara, who is under Pete Sepulveda, county administrator. But the incestuous nature of the Ara-Vallejo-Hernandez relationship doesn't end there. Ara's sister, Lavinia Ralston Long, who used to work at Fiesta graphics, Ernie's company, is now the receptionist for Hernandez's Precinct 2 office.<br />And remember Gilbert Galvan, the county's hapless safety officer who wrecked the county SUV when he failed to negotiate the curve at the intersection of FM 803 and Henderson Road? Well, apprently just after the truck was repaired, accident-prone Galvan had it hit by another car and the vehicle sustained some damage. Back to the repair garage!<br />Hi sister, Claudia Garza, by the way, works as receptionist at the county warehouse on 14th Street in Brownsville.<br />And Vallejos' wife, Linda C. Vallejo, also works for the county auditor's office.<br />His brother was also found a spot on the Cameron Park colonia work crew.<br />It is apparent that the colonia fund crews and county jobs have become the destination of Hernandez-Ara-Vallejo patronage ring with the predictable results. So what are a few thousands dollars in wasted road materials?<br />Remember when Ernie's niece â" Magistrate Patricia Edlestein â" gave his daughter-in-law Daisy de la Fuente, a former receptionist with the Cameron County Sheriff's Department, a "get out of jail" card after she was arrested after being engaged in a drunken brawl in northern rural Los Fresnos.<br />De la Fuente, married to Evan Hernandez, Ernie' son, was said to have been clocked traveling more than 100 miles per hour on Highway 100 at <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0NGI9MTLIZ39m3PqTmxOYZRN_NiU1MW-AstMTJKmMkBqymMkM6j5CAOALIV1pGeh2cmWpMdaXObarIac2Qpt7g3xniNd9-DwWumi0y4L274riz78q_aCB0VY5OmFUxBsxyjHO_qmuxDA/s1600/daisy.jpg"></a>approximately 3 a.m. then.<br />Los Fresnos police chased her and she is reported to have ditched her car and taken off on foot through the bush to elude them,<br />She then called her friends at the sheriff's department to ask them for a ride. Police found her walking on the side of the road. However, she neglected to tell them that she had left her car to avoid getting arrested by the Los Fresnos PD.<br />Unfortunately for Daisy, she forgot that she had left her purse and ID in the car and when the Los Fresnos cops went though it, they found out her real identity.<br />Even with Ernie's pleading, Sheriff Omar Lucio decided he had had enough embarrassment from one of his employees and declined to keep her on board.<br />Now, as we get ready to elects a Justice of the Peace, what can we really expect from Ernie's daughter Erin Hernandez Garcia but more of the same?<br />Voters should send a clear message that the tendrils of the Hernandez empire building can't bellowed to continue.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-8363412973526409913?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

CARMEN ROAD SCREW-UP REVEAL EXTENT OF HERNANDEZ PATRONAGE MACHINE TENDRILS
---------------------------------------------------------------
By <strong>Juan Montoya<br /><br /></strong>Not too may people noted the issue of the reworking of El Carmen Road next to Veterans Memorial High School.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7P8IyKdhlZlEGaJkhXGaEz4OSU-15UmY3djzrRRHAnv-28dl-Q7A2SrLXtVnKpTOhrcnaIOt9SPj4zAyBBI-EMTfG9mxNuAExdKRGgfhN6AS9a5qCDxYKDtJ825zmM8mOVU38jU_kbg/s1600/erin+h_+garcia.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742112572988335650" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU7P8IyKdhlZlEGaJkhXGaEz4OSU-15UmY3djzrRRHAnv-28dl-Q7A2SrLXtVnKpTOhrcnaIOt9SPj4zAyBBI-EMTfG9mxNuAExdKRGgfhN6AS9a5qCDxYKDtJ825zmM8mOVU38jU_kbg/s400/erin+h_+garcia.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />But if you had you would have gotten an indication of what results when political patronage under commissioner Ernie Hernandez takes the lead over public service, especially when it's the taxpayers' money being wasted.<br />With his daughter a candidate for Justice of the Peace 2-2, it is instructive to see what the results are when one person tries to extend his influence on the public's nickle.<br />Public Works Director Luis Ara, a Hernandez favorite, labored mightily to explain to county commissioners why he was pouring thousands of dollars on the road when less than a year ago in April 2011 the county had finished paving the road. Apparently, some of the cement being delivered to the program somehow found its way out of the city and ended up being used by individuals who then sold it to homeowners for driveways and sidewalks.<br />And just last year, a homeowner's complaint in rural Olmito filed with the Cameron County's Sheriff Department charged that Vallejo and his compadre Rosendo Rodriguez had sold them driveway pipes they were replacing as they performed ditchwork on the roads and keeping the money for themselves.<br />Sheriff Dept. officials said that the complaint against the two were dismissed on a "technicality," but insiders say that aggressive defense attorneys for the men scared them into withdrawing their charges telling them they were just as guilty as their clients because they knew the pipes were not legitimately acquired.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieZ8GlNSOopdDLKtFEbZOy5hftCUfME-ZvwsY5xyYf89xAK1NMKyn_BsQdWwLz88LHUTkPEL4tApOKDtjlgwjAGFTb3zUowHF3wkWZFI7NjVKRxiNwMpHnhjEUa6cXP351TpELc0E0Gy4/s1600/ratas.gif"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieZ8GlNSOopdDLKtFEbZOy5hftCUfME-ZvwsY5xyYf89xAK1NMKyn_BsQdWwLz88LHUTkPEL4tApOKDtjlgwjAGFTb3zUowHF3wkWZFI7NjVKRxiNwMpHnhjEUa6cXP351TpELc0E0Gy4/s400/ratas.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5742154265007711010" border="0" /></a>With the charges withdrawn, the men returned to their positions free and cleared.<br />And it just so happens that Rosendo's brother, Ricardo, is also working for the county in the colonia grants section and mostly in Cameron Park.

CITY CONTRACT LAWYER SOSSI SUED FOR LEGAL MALPRACTICE...AGAIN
---------------------------------------------------------------
By <strong>Juan Montoya</strong><br /><br />When it rains, it pours, on city contract attorney Mark E. Sossi, that is.<br /><br />For the second time within the last three months, yet another dissatisfied customer is seeking relief in the local courts alleging that Sossi's performance in their litigation amounts to nothing more than legal malpractice. The lawsuit was filed April 23 in the 138th District Court.<br /><br />The case is similar to that filed against Sossi â" also through Zavalett'a law office â" by Brownsville Independent School District teacher and soccer coach Jesus Abete. Abete filed his lawsuit against the city's contract attorney Feb. 13 in the 357th District Court.<br /><br />Abete claimed s in his lawsuit that he "duly signed a contract" with Sossi and that the attorney signed the contract to represent him to recover legal damages sustained as a result of the accident. The Oliveira Middle School algebra and math teacher also claims that Sossi represented to him that the case was timely filed in court.<br /><br />"In the ensuing months, (Sossi) repeatedly lied to (Abete), and misrepresented the true facts of the underlying lawsuit to (him).<br /><br />"The truth is that (Sossi) never filed suit on behalf of Abete, and by law, suit had to be filed before the statute of limitations expired. He setup a desk outside the courthouse complete with goats and chickens to call attention to his plight.</div><br /><div>Those charges against him, by the way, were later dismissed. Apparently, the use of a city-issued cell phone, the taking of nude photos inside the Police Department gymnasium, and the continued sexual harassment of a local woman who he says was a former PD employee are not prosecutable acts now that he will be conveniently gone.<br />âœHe is leaving on Friday,â Rodriguez said. âœWe have no employee to deal with."<br />Isn't that rich?<br />Well, Chief, today is Wednesday, and the perpetrator of the acts is still employed by the city and is on the premises exercising his full official authority? What do you mean that we have no employee to deal with?<br />To make matters worse, Ingram apparently admitted to having a "relationship" with the woman over an undetermined period of time.<br />âœI made a mistake, so I retired and am hoping to be forgiven and move on,â Ingram said.<br />The newspaper says that one photograph shows Ingram in full frontal nudity, using a cell phone to snap the photograph of himself as he faces a full-length mirror.<br />But what he didn't tell the newspaper was that the nude photo wasn't the only one that he sent the woman, but rather that it was the most graphic of a series of photos that he sent over a period of time. Sources say that Ingram was insistent on having the woman send him pictures of herself as well.<br />"It got to the point where she had had enough and let the PD know about it," they said. "When Internal Affairs looked at the photos, they indicated that they had been sent by Ingram."<br />Some of the photos were not nudes. Taken from inside the PD gymnasium, they show Ingram making a muscle and smiling broadly at the mirror in shots taken of the reflection.<br />Ingram, a 35-year veteran of the force, said the woman had left the department in 2008.<br />He was most recently commander of the traffic division. Rodriguez said that even though Ingram may have violated the code of conduct, there is no recourse for administrative action and that he doesn't contemplate additional investigations will be launched.<br />Ingram was contrite in his interview with the newspaper.<br />"I was morally wrong and should not have done it,â he told the reporter. âœI am suffering because of it.â<br />Coming, as it does, after a similar incident lat December when the department weathered another texting scandal when a dispatcher was arrested on harassment charges for posting online text messages and photographs between her husband, a police officer and a female officer, this latest incident makes the department look bad, administration sources said.<br />But, as in the incident then, there should be no fallout as to prosecution.<br />The Cameron District Attorneyâ™s office under Armando Villalobos later dismissed those charges.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-8680206376585382162?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

PD COMMANDER RESIGNS AFTER SENDING LEWD PHOTOS TO BROWNSVILLE WOMAN ON CITY CELL PHONE

In July 21, 2010, he, along with Police Chief Carlos Garcia, Commander Robert Avitia, and then-Lt. Orlando Rodriguez and Lt. William Ingram were all involved the so-called Sandbag Scandal" prior to the arrival of Hurricane Alex where they had city employees deliver sandbags to their private homes.<br />Officers with the Brownsville Police Officer's Administration (BPOA) and Combined Law Enforcement Agencies of Texas (CLEAT) raised the allegations a police department-issued truck was used to pick up sandbags and that two Brownsville city employees assigned to the department delivered the sandbags to the homes of the four administrators.<br />However, that incident pales in comparison with the issues contained in the woman's complaint against Ingram.<br />"If this is what the commanders of the cops are doing, what can we expect from the lower ranks," said a source close to the city administration. "The cops are going to take another black eye on this one."<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-8200776717353911037?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

ZAVALETTA'S CLAIMS FOUR YEARS AGO NOW RING TRUE
---------------------------------------------------------------
<div><span>By <strong>Juan Montoya<br /></strong>There is one known convicted murderer loose somewhere in the Asian subcontinent who is free because of the corrupt judicial system in Cameron County.<br /></span>That is Amit Livingston, the man who on September 30, 2005 killed 32-year-old teacher Hermila Hernandez and later buried her body in the sand dunes in the desolate reaches of the furthest access road in South Padre Isla<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgORoz2B2C74A1jzqz85hwr3_a-WpS_iPr3IaxH9oF2ihlOC2BfFQCV4FqyNqgY_KrFdwQ9OPPSrj83zeFxvCbNffHMPLWwtQ8mdQ9hUAFLOpTG8BafIJb_24OGUmD_Fn-jUUS669tEdHQ/s1600/amit.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 230px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 172px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740195369357280354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgORoz2B2C74A1jzqz85hwr3_a-WpS_iPr3IaxH9oF2ihlOC2BfFQCV4FqyNqgY_KrFdwQ9OPPSrj83zeFxvCbNffHMPLWwtQ8mdQ9hUAFLOpTG8BafIJb_24OGUmD_Fn-jUUS669tEdHQ/s400/amit.jpg" /></a>nd.</div><br /><div>And closer to home, accused killer Pepe Villarreal is reportedly hiding out in northern Mexico after he somehow was allowed to leave the country after he had been charged with the murder of his son-in-law and an immigration hold put on him.</div><br /><div>Already, one of the defendants in an Abel Limas corruption-related case, former Cameron District Attorney investigator Jaime Muñivez, has pled guilty to having accepted a new bicycle from Villarreal in Matamoros in exchange for information about law-enforcement efforts to prosecute him in the case. In other words, to get information from inside the enemy's house.</div><br /><div>You remember Villarreal, he is accused of having shot his son-in-law at a convenience store at the corner of Houston Road and Minnesota Avenue across the street from the Ozanam Center (Casa Romero).Somehow or another (no one seems to know how), he managed to free himself from the law while in custody through a series of (deliberate?) mixups to the point whew it is alleged the officers transporting him back to jail from a court hearing were instructed to pull over to the side of the road and allow his wife, trialing in a car behind their unit, to whisk him away to to safety across the Rio Grande.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnkluy8DH8B7eb8DqJ4yycpsfoVZy-5WzsdfzJCUzqMmySJ5TcD3xZ3PoRJO0iWUKUPwUJPP8W2TwGd8zRL46WnOZ0mPgS1EubjaYHQiYL2I2Vm6hxO2TBmtWLiLoYr-P9HZBuqGIcdns/s1600/mando.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 245px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5740195869518652450" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnkluy8DH8B7eb8DqJ4yycpsfoVZy-5WzsdfzJCUzqMmySJ5TcD3xZ3PoRJO0iWUKUPwUJPP8W2TwGd8zRL46WnOZ0mPgS1EubjaYHQiYL2I2Vm6hxO2TBmtWLiLoYr-P9HZBuqGIcdns/s320/mando.jpg" /></a></div><br /><br /><div>The federal government continues to pursue Villarreal's trail.</div><br /><br /><div>In the case of Livingston, voters were told way back in January 2008, by then DA candidate Peter Zavaletta in a campaign ad that money from the $500,000 cash bond placed by Livingston's parents had somehow found its way to the campaign coffers of Aramando Villalobos.</div><br /><br /><div>No one believed it back then. Mando was a rising star, albeit with some baggage with his close association with Limas who the then-judge appointed as his 404th court defender of choice. People were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and ascribed Zavaletta's claims to campaign rhetoric.</div><br /><div>But just what was it that Zavaletta said back then?</div><br /><div>Zavaletta asked in his ad <span>"DID MONEY FROM AN ADMITTED MURDERER FIND ITS WAY TO THE CAMPAIGN ACCOUNT OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY?"</span></div><br /><div><span>Zavaletta claimed that "based on sworn testimony and official documents, money from an admitted murderer who is still at large has found its way into the campaign account of District Attorney Armando Villalobos."</span></div><br /><div><span>He then went on to state that "On February 13, 2007, with a jury waiting to be selected and empaneled, Amit Livingston pled guilty to the brutal murder on September 30, 2005 of 32 year old Hermila Hernandez. The offense carried a penalty range of no less than 5 years and no more than 99 years confinement in state penitentiary, or life, plus a fine of up to $10,000.</span></div><br /><div><span>Under the plea agreement offered by the District Attorney, however, Livingston was to only serve 23 years in exchange for his guilty plea. Before reporting to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division to serve his sentence, however, Livingston was given 60 days to 'get his life straightened out.'â</span></div><br /><div><span>Despite explaining that he ha objected in chambers to Limas' decision, Zavaletta claimed that the District Attorney did not publicly object or file an emergency appeal to stop the convicted murderer from walking out the courthouse doors.</span></div><br /><div><span>Livingston had earlier deposited $500,000 in cash as a bond to secure his return.<br />"On April 18, 2007, Amit Livingston, an admitted killer, failed to surrender to authorities to begin his sentence. He had absconded."</span></div><br /><div><span></span>Yesterday, in a 34-page indictment of Villalobos, federal prosecutors accused Villalobos of receiving two payments of $40,000 each from his former law partner in Dallas Eddie Lucio as part of his take from the splitting of the $500,000 cash bond after $300,000 was given to the family of the victim and the other $200,000 to Lucio for his prosecuting the civil suit.</div><br /><div>Peter Zavaletta's warnings, after all, may not have been campaign rhetoric at all, but may have been merely pointing to the tip of the corruption iceberg rearing its ugly head from the judicial wing of the Cameron County Courthouse.</div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6016803033174468094-259658381806944793?l=rrunrrun.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>
