Solomon Ortiz are named in a warrant requesting electronic communications, including emails, in the expanding federal investigation of a former Cameron County judge. <a href="http://www.caller.com/news/2012/jan/09/former-ortiz-chief-of-staff-democratic-candidate/">[read Corpus Christi Caller Times article]</a>.<br />Florencio “Lencho” Rendon, who was chief of staff for longtime U.S. Rep. Solomon Ortiz, and Joseph Ramirez are among 25 individuals whose emails with Austin attorney Marc Rosenthal are of interest to federal investigators.<br />Ramirez has filed to run for chairman of the Nueces County Democratic Party.<br />Rosenthal was indicted in August on 13 federal charges, including bribery, extortion, witness tampering and racketeering in connection with a separate investigation against 404th District Court Judge Abel.
